These large ink on drafting film drawings continue many of the themes found in my work. Starting with sheets of clear impenetrable drafting film the watery layers of ink washes flow and pool as each layer dries by the natural forces of gravity and air. As in my canvases the lack of a predetermined design or goal is paramount to the focus of the work. The use of the clean areas of the film as white space sets up a dialog about depth and movement while the use of both waterproof and water-soluble inks add to the process. Adjusting only by color choice and density of application each work becomes an arena for a conversation on space, reflection and translucence.
